Kathy  Avery is an orthopedic physical therapist with over 22 years  experience. Her passion is bringing healing to patients with acute and  chronic pain through manual therapy, exercise and patient education so  they can return to doing the things that they love. There is no one single approach that is right for every person or diagnosis. She has  been trained in multiple disciplines and techniques which enable her to  tailor the treatment to the patient's needs.

Kathy  graduated from Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, Scotland with a  Bachelor of Science degree with honours in Physiotherapy.  Several years  later, she returned to school at Andrews University, in Berrien  Springs, Michigan where she graduated with a Doctor of Science in  Physical Therapy (DScPT). Kathy is a Certified Orthopedic Manipulative  Therapist (COMT) through  NAIOMT.  She specializes in evaluation and treatment of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine.

Kathy was born in Wisconsin and raised in Duluth, Minnesota.   Her  interest in health and fitness began early on.   She was always active  and started teaching exercise classes at age 17.  She taught aerobics  through college and was a weight trainer and fitness instructor at the  YMCA.

Kathy  made Hawaii her home in 2002.  In her free time she loves to do  Pilates, hit the beach or curl up with a good book on rainy days in  Kaneohe.

Lauren  Lacerdo, PT, DPT, COMT, FAAOMPT has been a licensed Physical Therapist  since 2017. Lauren attended Oregon State University majoring in Exercise  and Sports Science - Pre-Therapy and Allied Health concentration. She  graduated with honors, in 2014. She then graduated, with distinction,  from Pacific University in 2017 with her Doctor of Physical Therapy  degree.

Lauren  was first introduced to the North American Institute of Orthopedic  Manual Therapy (NAIOMT) during her clinical rotations as a physical  therapy student and began taking courses shortly after graduation.  Lauren was immediately drawn to the clinical reasoning framework NAIOMT  provides for whole body, patient-centered care.

Lauren became a  certified manual physical therapist (CMPT) in 2020 and continued on to  become a certified orthopedic manipulative therapist (COMPT) in 2022.  She became the 188th graduate of NAIOMT’s Orthopedic Fellowship Program  in 2023 and considers herself a generalist in orthopedic care.

Lauren  finds value and results in a holistic approach founded in manual  therapy, body pattern re-education, and therapeutic exercise  intervention. Her mission is to provide comprehensive, individualized  rehabilitative and preventative care to address the root cause(s) of her  patient’s dysfunctions. Her goal is to empower each patient on their  wellness journey by helping them to be better in tuned with their bodies  and to feel more in control of their physical health so they can live  out their best lives.

Lauren  was born and raised in Mililani, Hawaii. She enjoys reading, hiking,  going to the beach, and spending time with her husband, family, and  friends.

Jen received her Masters of Science in Physical Therapy from the University  of Toronto in 2006 after completing a Bachelor of Human Kinetics degree from the University of British Columbia. Upon graduation, Jen worked in a variety of orthopedic settings from Whistler, BC to Denver, CO before  her love of the ocean brought her to Oahu seven years ago.

She has completed  numerous advanced manual therapy courses and has furthered her education  in the areas of myofascial release and functional movement assessment.

Jen is a PMA certified Pilates instructor and enjoys incorporating  Pilates-based movement into treatment with her clients. Moon has been a physical therapist for 21 years and specializes in women’s health and orthopedics. She is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Pilates instructor and Health Coach. She believes in a highly individualized approach to patient care and that movement is medicine. Central to her treatment philosophy is patient education on diagnosis and dysfunction as well as guidance on discovering motivations and barriers to change so that positive health habits can be established. She utilizes manual therapy and therapeutic exercise to decrease pain and restore functional movement patterns so that patients can meet their goals and return to full function.

Moon graduated with honors from UCLA with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Counseling was in her future until a knee injury and surgery opened her eyes to the world of physical therapy.

She graduated in 2003 with a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Southern California and focused on treating orthopedic patients.

The birth of her 2 children and the realization that most women are not receiving adequate pelvic health care inspired her to add women’s health issues and pelvic floor physical therapy to her practice. She is passionate about helping women navigate changes and dysfunction that occur throughout the female lifespan to include pregnancy, the postnatal period and the menopause transition.

Moon loves ocean swimming, scuba diving and surfing as well as beach days and travel adventures with her husband and 2 kids.

Orthopedic Clinical Specialist | Movement Expert | Creator of Total Body Tune-Up

With over 27 years of experience as a physical therapist and movement specialist, Christine Lynders brings a blend of clinical expertise, personal experience, and heartfelt passion to her work. As Board-Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist, Christine has dedicated her career to helping people recover from and prevent injuries, eliminate pain, and return to the activities they love—stronger than ever.

Christine is the creator of the Total Body Tune-Up, a biomechanical total-body assessment system designed to uncover hidden movement dysfunctions that often, if left unrecognized,  lead to pain and injury. Her deep understanding of the body's mechanics—paired with advanced manual therapy skills and movement re-education—drives her ability to find and treat the root cause of discomfort, not just the symptoms.

As a former Division I college athlete who endured multiple shoulder injuries and surgeries, Christine knows firsthand what it feels like to be sidelined by pain. Her own recovery journey inspired her to become a physical therapist and commit to the highest level of training so she could help others avoid the same setbacks—especially youth athletes. Today, she offers expert treadmill gait analysis, individualized treatment plans, and injury prevention strategies for active individuals of all ages.

Christine is very passionate about sharing her knowledge and expertise with the public.

She has spoken nationally and internationally on a variety of topics including:

  • Scoliosis correction,
  • Low back pain resolution strategies,
  • Youth athlete injury prevention,
  • Golf injury prevention and performance improvement program
  • Knee and Foot/Ankle Injury Prevention and Treatment

For over four years, she hosted the educational wellness shows Movement Matters and Physical Therapy for a Better Life on ThinkTech Hawaii, where she empowered viewers with the tools to take control of their physical wellness in the comfort of their own homes.

And recently, Christine published the groundbreaking book, Suck It In: The Proven Solution to Eliminate Low Back Pain Forever and Get a Flatter Stomach, which breaks down her science-backed method for resolving low back pain into an easy-to-follow guide that helps people reconnect with their deep core muscles, eliminate pain, and be free to enjoy life fully.

Currently based in Kailua at Hana Pono Wellness, Christine works with clients both in person and virtually. Whether you’re a runner, a weekend warrior, a desk-bound professional, or simply someone who wants to move pain-free again, Christine is excited to help you get back to what you love. There is nothing more fulfilling to her than helping someone achieve their goals!

Outside the clinic, Christine enjoys surfing, running in the deep soft sand at Kalama Beach, and playing beach volleyball with friends.
